The NHS is increasingly focusing on tackling the millions of people who suffer from erectile dysfunction, a chronic condition that affects over 20% of men in Britain.
But the NHS has been struggling to find a way to help those who struggle to achieve and maintain erections, a team of UK-based doctors and researchers has discovered.
Dr Kate Molynejad, of the Department of Health and Social Care, said: “It’s a shame that there are no good options in the bedroom for the men who struggle to maintain an erection.
“The NHS is currently trying to find a way for patients to get their hands on Viagra, but they have to work with the doctors to find a solution that is right for them and effective for treating their condition.”
She also said that many men suffer from some form of erectile dysfunction, but don’t realize that it can have many causes.
In addition, the NHS has faced the challenge of finding a way to offer men who are suffering from “side effects”, such as erectile dysfunction.
This has led to the NHS not only failing to meet the needs of men suffering from this serious condition, but also facing new challenges.
In 2022, the NHS said it was planning to launch a program of free medication for men with erectile dysfunction.
A spokeswoman for the NHS said: “We are committed to improving access and outcomes for men suffering from erectile dysfunction and have worked with the prescribing and medical community to ensure the program’s delivery is accessible to all.”
In August 2022, the NHS said it was launching a new treatment option called Viagra Connect for men with erectile dysfunction, available to buy online or through a prescription.
This has led to more than 100,000 NHS patients using Viagra Connect, which contains sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, to help men suffering from erectile dysfunction. In 2021, Viagra Connect had over £1 billion in annual worldwide sales.
The NHS says the erectile dysfunction treatment has been shown to have a positive impact on men’s sexual health.

“We are continuing to work with the NHS to develop a treatment plan that is safe and effective and that has been shown to have a positive impact on men’s sexual health.”

“When people talk about erectile dysfunction, they say, ‘Oh, it’s just not a problem for me’. That’s not what’s causing it. I’m not saying we can’t fix it, but we can improve it.”
Dr Kate Molyne is the Director of the Institute of Sexual Medicine. She says that in the past decade, the NHS has experienced more than 300 major hospital admissions for erectile dysfunction.
“I was told, by a patient who was diagnosed with erectile dysfunction, that the treatment worked, but then the hospital admissions started. Now we are having more admissions for erectile dysfunction.”
The NHS said it was working with the prescribing and medical community to make an offer that was “effective and safe” for men suffering from erectile dysfunction.
The prescription offer was to men who are suffering from erectile dysfunction who have been taking Viagra Connect for the past 12 months. It was also to men who have been diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
